What is Beacon Response?

Beacon Response helps people who have experienced an opioid overdose. Our trained team members meet with patients in the emergency room to provide support, education, and connections to treatment.

How does it work?

Our “Allies”, trained as certified Peer Support Specialists, have been there. They’ve either struggled with addiction themselves or had a family member who did. They’ll meet with the patient in the emergency department after an overdose or suspected substance use to offer support and help them find the resources they need to get better.

This program is based on the National Bridge Model, which started in California.
